Meet our two hosts

Alan entered into the world in 1986 to a fit and generally healthy family. He grew up in East London and went to the best school in the world, Selborne College (despite what Jaimie says). He played rugby and initially wanted to pursue it as a career. It was only when he moved to Cape Town at the end of 2012 that he discovered Crossfit…the rest is history. Since then he has done CrossFit competitions in the US, Europe and taken part in as many local competition as he can. Along with his son, family, friends and faith, he is enjoying this life and learning as he goes.

Jaimie was born in Port Elizabeth in 1983. He went to the best school in the world, Grey High School from Sub A to matric. He then took a rugby scholarship at the University of Pretoria, where he also studied law. His dream was to play rugby for the Springboks, but in his own words: “I wasn’t good enough”. After rugby, he turned to the gym, where he squatted, benched and deadlifted himself into a 130kg metahuman. Capable of great feats of strength but couldn’t walk up 3 flights of stairs; he decided to try CrossFit on a dare. He attempts to keep a balance between being a husband, a dad, work, not being shit at CrossFit and drinking castle light. Sometimes he gets it right. Sometimes he doesn’t. But it doesn’t stop him from trying.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the launch of our podcast later this week!
